Ignite Social Media ranked #1 agency social media blog

Woke up to a nice post today on the Cision Blog called “Revisiting the Top 100 Social Media & Internet Marketing Bloggers.” There have been lots of “Top 10,” “Top 50” or “Top 100” lists before, but most have been based on either a simple metric or a particular blogger’s preferences. But this list uses data to see which sites users prefer the most, from number of visitors to how long they stay once they get there. According to that new data, here are the top 10 (of 100) social media and internet marketing blogs:

  1. Mashable
  2. Ignite Social Media <– that’s us!
  3. Problogger
  4. ReadWriteWeb
  5. MediaShift
  6. Danny Brown
  7. aimClear Blog
  8. Seth Godin’s Blog
  9. Social Media Today
  10. Social Business

Check out the full list of 100 here.  What was particularly gratifying about this list is that Cision used real data (from their tool and Compete) to rank these sites based on audience behaviors, including:

  • Average Unique Visitors per Month (available in CisionPoint),
  • Average Page Views per Month per Unique Visitor,
  • Average Time (seconds) per Month per Unique Visitor, and
  • Average Visits per Month per Unique Visitor

So really, thank you for coming to our site, staying around a while and coming back periodically. Pretty much all of my favorite blogs are on the list, so to be included at all is an honor. To be ranked second only to Mashable and to be ranked first among all agencies is humbling. Excuse me while I go around the office to make sure we’ve got more content coming asap!

Congrats! You guys deserve it! Just putting it out there, if you ever need to ship a yacht or boat anywhere, look up Yacht Exports. They did a great job with me. Hopefully this wont be the first time you guys rank. I smell first place!

The fame of social media’s participation in business has already spread across the business world. It’s effectiveness in advertising and sales generation are testified by a lot of small enterprise owners already. Starting business entrepreneurs that I know who use Twitter plays on their page background design to be more marketable. The ones into the direct business selling use professional twitter backgrounds while those whose trade is into arts use retro twitter backgrounds. According to them, even the page has to be relevant about the thing they represent. Some though explores and embellishes their professional twitter backgrounds to increase its appeal.
