One More Reason to Add Unique Flash Pieces to Your Site

Google and Adobe have teamed up to offer Google Analytics for the Flash content on your site.  This is a great way to see how often your visitors are interacting with the video, animation, quizzes, etc. on your site.  When used correctly, Flash content can be very beneficial to the interactivity level of your blog or website.  Until now, two of the downfalls of doing so have been lack of information about the usage of the objects, and a lack of SEO benefit from the information within the Flash content.  Google and Adobe have seemed to fix at least one of those problems.

This video on the Google Analytics YouTube Channel explains more about how to insert Google Analytics into your Flash content.  The Google Analytics Blog also gives detailed directions and code for how to add the tags within your Actionscript 3.0 Flash document.

If none of this makes sense to you, be sure to give it to your Flash designer and next time you want to incorporate a useful Flash piece onto your site, don’t worry about being able to track it.  This makes Flash developers like me very happy 🙂
