Foursquare Announces Potential Game-Changer in Digital Attribution

For as long as I can remember, digital media has been plagued with an attribution problem. In an era of seemingly limitless data availability, we’re still struggling with tying digital impressions to in-store sales. Foursquare has offered an answer. For just a 50 cent CPM premium, brands can lean on Foursquare’s voluntary panel of 1.3 million users to track whether their ad impressions actually drive in-store foot traffic. They’ve been running tests with a few launch partners and the initial results are impressive. It’s not perfect, but it’s certainly a giant step in the right direction.

Facebook Reactions Launched Globally

Initially rolled out a few months back, Facebook reactions are now global. Holding down the Like button on mobile devices or hovering over it on desktop will allow users to choose between Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad and Angry. For brands, this means the ability to get more insight into how folks are receiving your content. We’ve seen no updates to Insights or the API output, but developers are speculating an update will come with the release of Graph 2.6 in late March/early April. So we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer for those. But for now at least one brand has already jumped on the reactions bandwagon. Check out this new ad from Chevy which to date has earned 367 Likes, 121 Loves, 13 Wows, and 4 Hahas.

Live Events Can Be a Content Goldmine

Last week our team was proud to support our American Heart Association client at the Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection Fashion Show. We captured content for social channels, ran a live social ad campaign from backstage, and even invited some our influencer friends along to broadcast pre-show and post-show via Periscope. Check out our recap with these tips for getting the most social bang for your buck at the live events your brand is already hosting or sponsoring.
