After death of L’Wren Scott, her Facebook and Twitter Continue to Update

As the fashion world grieves the death of L’Wren Scott, iconic model and designer, many of them went to Facebook and Twitter to see if the news could be true.

Oddly, two hours after her death, L’Wren Scott was still posting.

At first, we weren’t sure if the news, which was initially reported by the New York Daily News was true, specifically because the Twitter and Facebook pages were still posting seemingly happy-go-lucky posts.

One post from today even showed the image of various dresses hanging in trees. This post is especially untimely, considering Scott’s death was due to hanging.

Disabling auto-posting is a crucial move for community managers in the wake of a tragedy that may be related to your brand. When it’s the death of your brand’s namesake, it’s best to disable auto-posting sooner rather than later.

As of 3:30 p.m. March 17, the L’Wren Scott Facebook page now appears to have been deleted.
