Ignite Does More Than Social Media: Our Visit to Angels’ Place

Angels4

On Tuesday, May 12, a group of philanthropic Igniters headed to nearby Southfield, MI to volunteer at Angels’ Place, a non-profit organization that provides homes and services to persons with developmental disabilities. They have twenty residential homes that are located in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County.

Angels’ Place relies on assistance from volunteers to keep their organization up and running. From doing arts and crafts with residents to completing spring clean ups at the homes, there is always work to be done!

Last week, eight of us endured the windy and cold Michigan spring weather to volunteer at the Longcrest Home.  Our assignment was to sand and stain their wood patio furniture so it would be good as new for summer BBQ’s.  We had a blast working together to beautify the table and chairs and were lucky to have the residents of the home there to cheer us along!

We enjoyed our time with Angels’ Place and look forward to more volunteer opportunities ahead.
