Nov 20 Three Social Media Trends That We’re Thankful For
Social media moves fast! Just as you have wrapped your head around the latest platform features or developed a great new marketing tactic, the rules have changed. This year was no exception and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we’re going to recap the three trends that we are most thankful for this year.
Increasing Popularity of Instagram Stories
Since the launch of Instagram stories, we have seen it blow up in our feeds, and truth to be told, we like what we see! Instagram stories allow brands to tell a story without overwhelming the feed of a user’s profile with content.
In August, Instagram marked one year of Instagram Stories and they had a lot to celebrate. Stories have assisted in increasing the amount of time users spend on the platform. On average, user under the age of 25 spend more than 32 minutes a day on Instagram and users 25 and older spend more than 24 minutes a day. For businesses, one in five organic stories from business get a direct message. For that, we are thankful.
Continued Investment in Influencer Marketing
Influencer marketing continues to prove itself as one of the best ways to reach a targeted audience and drive serious business results.
When your brand is advocated by a ‘trusted channel’, consumers sit up and take notice. By choosing the right influencer and the right campaign messaging, your brand will look more authentic if an influencer markets your product. That is why 73% of marketers say that they have an allocated budget for influencer marketing, according to TapInfluence.

Paid Media continues to grow!
One common misconception in social is the more you post, the more likely people are to see your message. However, quantity is not the answer. This means that content has never been more important to capture the attention of users. By strategically planning your objective, identifying your audience, and creating thumb stopping content, you can create a paid social media plan that delivers the right message to the right audience at the right now. Now that is a winning combination.
