The Cleveland Indians, considered one of the more forward thinking sports organizations when it comes to social media, have created a new “social media suite” at Progressive Field. The “Indians Social Suite” will be available by invitation only on a game-by-game basis.

Now, That’s an App of a Different Color!

A new app with colorful name has acquired quite a bit of controversy. Color taps into your GPS and shares photos you’ve taken with anyone it a 100-ft radius. Venture capitalists have invested a staggering $41 million in it already, which is amazing considering no one is sure how can become profitable.

A new couponing service launched on Wednesday called QPomp. Unlike the better-known couponing sites that require a certain number of people to purchase a deal before it becomes available, QPomp requires its users to engage in social sharing to reveal the deals. The pricing is also much more favorable to small businesses charging a fixed rate of $29 for all advertising campaigns.

Coca-Cola Not Thinking ‘Classic’ When it Comes To Advertising

Coca-Cola cut ad spending by 6.6% in 2010 while investing more in social media. Many of their campaigns have revolved around Facebook and Twitter. They also created a new site in the UK, Coke Zone, which offers fans exclusive content. They plan to use social media to revamp their marketing strategy from a campaign-based one to one that involves constant engagement with its fans.
