We’re just a bunch of Twittering Twits

At least according to Andrew Keen. When AdWeek asked “What would you like to see go away in 2008?” Andrew’s answer was:

“Twitter and the twittering Web 2.0 social network twits.”

Ouch. I’m all weepy. You can see the page here (pdf).

Of course, there are points that Andrew makes that I agree with (professionals get results and we need to focus on commerce, not mindless eyeball chasing). But I learned a long time ago that cynics feel superior by virtue of their cynicism. That’s what I’d like to see go away.

And it’s a pretty empty mind that can’t look at several million people doing something and not wonder how professionals could use that to focus on commerce… Twit…
