Feeding Kids While Supporting Clients

Ignite Social Media.

Summer is the favorite time of the year for many children – their days are filled with swimming, playing outside and most importantly, no school! Just ask Kid President:

However, for one in five children in America, summer can also mean a lack of food. More than 21.5 million kids in America are supported with free or reduced lunch at school making the weekends or summer vacation more difficult because they lack a basic necessity – meals.

The Program

To make strides to end child hunger in America, ConAgra Foods' Child Hunger Ends Here has teamed up with Procter & Gamble, with a goal of donating 7 million meals to Feeding America, the leading domestic hunger-relief organization.

CHEH CodeHere’s how it works: Look for the red pushpin and locate the code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods and P&G products. Each 8-digit code entered at the Child Hunger Ends Here website or Facebook page from March through August 2014, ConAgra Foods or P&G will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.

In the spirit of summer, we caught the need to feed and we began to look for new ways to support our client, Child Hunger Ends Here. Throughout the month of June, we and other CHEH affiliate agencies are taking part in a series of challenges to support this awesome cause.

Phase 1Snack Pack 1

Beginning on June 16, we launched an InstaGrub photo project. InstaGrub was designed to get Igniters excited about the upcoming Code Entry Challenge mentioned below while creating as much buzz about Child Hunger Ends Here as we could. To get involved, Igniters were asked to Instagram a creative picture involving one of ConAgra Foods’ push-pin products. We received some incredible submissions, like this fruit and chia seed bowl made with ConAgra Foods’ Snack Pack pudding. For more submission pictures, search #InstagrubCHEH.

Phase 2

Starting today and running through the 27th, we challenged other CHEH affiliate agencies to a code entry competition. All participating agencies are competing to enter as many codes as possible in one week. The winning agency will take home bragging rights over the others, but the real winners are the kids in need who will be fed throughout the summer.
